blossoms @ o2 forum, kentish town

Always awesome seeing these guys live! The first time I saw them was at the Hippodrome in Kingston, which holds about 200-300 people and I was lucky enough to meet Tom Ogden and Joe Donovan after the show (both were absolutely lovely). This time, I managed to snag tickets to see them play at the o2 Forum in Kentish Town, which is a significantly larger venue, holding approx. 2500 people. It was cool to see how their lighting and stage production has progressed – the “Black Skinhead” intro was insane and songs like “Honey Sweet” (my favourite) and “Deep Grass” were taken to a whole new level. Blossoms were supported by Cabbage, who I’d never listened before but enjoyed, and Declan Mckenna, who I’ve been a fan of for some time and was very excited to see. Really excited to see where the next two or three years takes Blossoms – they’ve worked incredibly hard and deserve all the best. Blossoms are back in London again in December playing at the O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire! (which I unfortunately was unable to get tickets to 😦 )
